Fauquier got $0 this year.
Kathline Butler
21:39
Robin, can you record this?
Christian P. Peabody-Stafford
22:21
It is being recorded :)
Robin Gardner - MVU
22:22
I am recording.
Kathline Butler
23:05
thanks friend!
Heather Eland
33:04
That is very helpful information. Thank you!

Here is a direct link to the two-page version of the teacher scale: https://www.staffordschools.net/cms/lib/VA01818723/Centricity/Domain/3006/TchrCalcScale%2051321.pdf

Why are some JROTC units on 12 month contracts while others are on 11 month?
bowmanve
47:44
why cap us at mid point
ABevans
48:16
Is there a service pay scale like teachers? That shows pay by years?
lewiscl
48:48
Can we expect 2.67 movement next year?
bowmanve
49:23
so we need to go to HR if our contract is not figured right
Amy
49:48
could we get a pay scale like the teachers?
Christina Harris
49:53
When you evaluated the service jobs, were the new expectations considered? such as longer bus routes, or Special education para caseload versus library para?
Melody’s iPhone
51:33
Why have the years of experience pay scale for drivers if we are going to be stuck at where we started when it was adopted 2 yrs ago?
Heather Dudley
52:05
When the new pay scales are introduced it appears the raise is on our current year's salary. Then the years of experience scale shifts. It is a perception that we aren't getting credit for our years of experience, rather getting a raise on our current salary. Can you please clarify why the years of experience shifts when the raises are added?
Christina Harris
52:26
okay thank you. I do appreciate everything you all are doing for us!
Heather Dudley
54:14
Ahhhhh, thank you Patrick! That's helpful,
J Houck
55:59
Any clarifications of benefits? Are they increasing? and if so, how much?
Laura Brewer
58:18
Thank you Christina Lewis. Having it explained like that helps me answer questions.
J Houck
58:52
Thanks that is great! I am happy for the raise since all my other costs of living have significantly increased this year. Glad to hear the benefits are not increasing as well.
lewiscl
01:01:08
When do 1st -3rd year teachers apply for tuition assistance and how do teachers apply?
Heather Eland
01:01:23
To clarify - employees may use the loan repayment or tuition reimbursement as appropriate. Not both, correct?
Christina Harris
01:01:45
Is there a link for that so I can share that with some of my employees?
Heather Eland
01:01:55
Got it. Thank you!
Isaiah
01:03:30
I was told the funding ran out after the fall semester is that correct? I was not able to receive the full benefit.
Darcie Hood
01:04:19
if we take tuition reimbursement, do we owe the county time?
Darcie Hood
01:05:34
awesome! thank you!
J Houck
01:08:04
Is there going to be virtual option for preschoolers next year like we had this year?
Lori May
01:09:42
I know with younger students trying to teach concurrently is not good for the virtual student or the in person students. It takes away from all. Is it possible to come up with another option for children who have a need to be concurrent?
Heather Eland
01:11:37
Can we get a blanket with that cot?!?! ;-)
Todd K He/His
01:11:42
Tiny house community for new teachers. Give me the land and I'll build it. Rec center in the middle...it will be beautiful
Kathline Butler
01:14:36
I always have someone proof read!
Helen Strickler
01:14:44
Have creative ways of maintaining only 3 start/end times (not 4) been explored? For example, maybe have 75% of the elementary schools start at the first time and have the remaining 25% of elementary schools start at the same time as middle school?
Darcie Hood
01:14:47
why can't we keep the same schedule we have now? I worry about high schoolers driving in rush hour traffic and driving at night after sports...they are new drivers and I worry about their safety
Darcie Hood
01:15:59
not all teachers live in Stafford and their kids don't go to school in Stafford..our kids can't go to the YMCA and we are paying a ton in after school fees
sabbw
01:16:48
I'm glad to hear the schedule is open to be tweaked.
marcispellman
01:17:49
So will the HS kids then be late? Can we find a way to get more buses so that no one is late? Every grade is important really
Amanda Collette
01:17:49
Is there a possibility of paying monitors to stay with students that are late being picked up instead of asking staff to stay after a long day?
Julie P
01:18:09
As an elementary staff member, I am 100% in agreement with the reasoning behind the earlier elementary start. Late buses were a HUGE issue for years.
Julie P
01:18:47
HOES
sabbw
01:19:28
Hey, RR is in my 'hood.
Natalie Lentz
01:19:31
We used to have some buses park at Ferry Farm. That changed in the last few years. Previously, was that beneficial?
b
01:20:37
Rockhill. Thank you all for helping our students with this great change.
Laura Brewer
01:21:15
High School going in last allows transportation to be able to get them to their travel destinations with out causing an impact on other grade levels. As well as athletic trips can have dedicated drivers. Not in-between other runs.
sabbw
01:23:37
LOL!
elizabethcarafiol
01:23:42
In the high school, athletic teams often leave school at 1 or 2pm to make it to a meet. Could the county enter discussions with other counties to move meet/game times to later in the day so that our student athletes only miss a minimal amount of instructional time?
J Houck
01:25:16
Will ECSE go back to Monday through Thursday work? How much time will be between a.m. and p.m. groups with the time frames mentioned.
Anne Adams
01:25:42
Does the school board vote on the new schedules? It was a bit confusing on Tuesday night.
Brian M
01:25:45
1- great to see you back at it Dr. K 2 - the times being a student oriented decision is great, in many ways, looking forward to it! #LGM
Trenna Mason
01:25:50
A few of the schools that you mention have a progressive schedule where one day a week has a unique schedule from the other four days allowing for time for clubs, tutoring and remediation. Is that being considered?
Trish
01:25:57
When do you expect to have the final decisions on hours?
marcispellman
01:26:15
That happens a lot in HS
elizabethcarafiol
01:27:14
So no async in place of snow days next year?
J Houck
01:27:32

Nicolas Kwatnoski
01:29:48
Do we know roughly what we can expect contract hours to be? In terms of time beyond when students are in the building?
sabbw
01:30:10
What's the reason for the shift back to 80 min classes for the high schools?
Anne Adams
01:30:17

Thank you all for your time this evening.
elizabethcarafiol
01:30:59
FYI the high school schedule shown at the school board meeting was 10 minutes shorter than the school day in pre-civid years. I don’t know if the plan is to shorten the instructional day or if that was an oversight, but figured it would be good to point out
Laura Brewer
01:31:53
Dr. Kizner, Mr. Fulmer, and Mr. Byrnett...Thank you for your time. A lot of questions were answered and information provided!!!

Trenna Mason
01:33:16
PLEASE build in time for tutoring and remediation. Our most at risk students already struggle with staying late/coming in early. I fear for our HS standardized testing scores. :(

THANK YOU

Is it possible to revisit the idea of concurrent teaching at the lower grades and maybe find a better solution instead being concurrent off and on throughout the year?
